Ms. Houria, Primary Head Teacher

Please share a little background about yourself:

I was born and raised in Morocco. I began my career in education earning a B.A. in Education from University Hassan II in Morocco, in 1994. I am a lead teacher in Primary 2 and have been an educator for 19 years. I am certified AMS Accreditor. I lived in clifton, I have three children, who are 24, 21, and 16 years old. I brings a joy, enthusiasm and creative spirit to my classroom that both students and parents are drawn to.

What did you specialize in throughout your education?

I specialized in teaching learning strategies in the foreign language classroom and speak fluent English, French and Arabic.   I came to the United States in 1994 and began my teaching career at MUA from 2000-2015. I became very interested in the Montessori approach and pursued a Montessori Certification at the Center for Montessori Teacher Education in New York in 2006 to teach children ages 3 to 6 years.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I currently live in Clifton, have 3 children who are 16, 24 and 21 and keep very busy spending time with family.
