Welcome to Hoboken Montessori School. As a parent, I know that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you make for your child. 

 

After the birth of my first child, I was introduced to the Montessori philosophy through friends who had sent their children to Montessori schools. As a long-time resident of Hoboken, I was surprised to find a Montessori school did not exist locally. I was also encouraged to find many preschools were started by parents. My children attended the school from 2011 to 2013 and served as an inspiration for its creation and growth.  It has been a great team effort; a team that includes administrators, teachers, consultants, and parents, to make this dream a reality for Hoboken and surrounding communities.

Today, HMS proudly offers a truly authentic Montessori education, an offering core to my vision for this exceptional method. Our experienced Montessori administrators and teachers are educated and trained in the Montessori teaching philosophy, in the Montessori curriculum, and in the use of Montessori material. They dedicate themselves to the preparation of a warm, inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity, cooperation, independent thinking, self-discipline, and respect for oneself and others. Research in child education demonstrates that children who are self-motivators tend to grow into life-long learners who have broad aspirations, interests, and passions.
