New Year, New Milestone & Inspiring Lifelong Learning

As we approach reopening our school on September 8th, I would like to take this moment to welcome our HMS families and thank you all for your input and support during this difficult and challenging time for our community. These past few months have brought great reflection and adaptation for us all, and I found myself returning to a time when I first conceptualized my dream to open this special school.
As a mother of two young children ten years ago, I was enthralled by the Montessori method and it became my life passion to create an opportunity for Hoboken families to access this education locally. Although I'd never worked or trained in this field, I knew this was what I wanted for my own children and community. Transitioning from a demanding career in finance, the landscape was very different for me, and at times extremely daunting.
While pursuing my vision for a beautiful space that offered a truly authentic Montessori education, I had to meticulously think about and execute every detail to start and successfully run a school within this vision. Staying true to that while also adhering to stringent state guidelines was a lesson in perseverance, and it took nearly two years to prepare and open.
These past few months have been reminiscent of that time. I've had to re-think every aspect of running a school with health and safety at the forefront of all decisions.Â
Outreach, support and resourcefulness have been invaluable. Our team has been focused on establishing protocols within state and CDC guidelines. I have also spearheaded monthly meetings with other heads of private schools in the area to share information and ideas. With very specific guidelines and protocols in place, we are ready and excited for the new school year to begin.
Coming into my tenth year as an authentic Montessori school, I never thought I'd be facing the challenges of the last several months. Our listening and reacting skills have been put to a test that will forever be in our forefront to continually improve. Our long standing and dedicated teaching staff can't wait to get back to doing what we love, inspiring lifelong learning in our students. We look forward to a wonderful school year full of new experiences and memories.
With gratitude,
